Well for me English it's just a language Same like Indonesia language as long the recipient receive the message that's. And I never hear that local people Judging others people especially for the international people like us Where English are not our mother language. They are so welcoming and understand (except for the racism person). i just don't understand with indonesian people that think he or she have a better English then others, laughing at others. come on guys please wake up how good ur English still that cant change the fact : English are not our mother language.

When someone speaks horrible English...

I don't mind. Because when speaking, people need to think about the topic s/he's talking about, while thinking about how to convey those thoughts into foreign language simultaneously. Even someone who gets an A in every English [written] test could be a total mess when they have to speak spontaneously e.g. in an unscripted conversation.
But it's a different story when one tries to show off even when their English is horrible. That's a big NO.
So I think in this case, that guy's only sin is only for trying to show off.

What really grinds my gears, is when someone WRITES horrible English. I mean -- it's written, FFS. You could always re-check your spelling. You could review your sentences to see if there's something missing; you could even GOOGLE it, just type the phrase you're writing and voila! You'll see lots of suggestions -- oftentimes it's from sites where people specifically ask for the proper phrase or grammar use -- such as WordReference forum. I don't mind people making mistakes if it were a complex sentence, or small mistakes that even native speakers often make/don't notice (do I need to point out your mistakes, Sandwriting? :-P ). But writing PEACE as PISS? "Hey guys check out my threat!" (what he actually meant was THREAD). REALLY? I guess some people just want to watch the world burn.

but sometimes it's hard for the english users, too. i can mention some words just like color and colour, if you understand what i mean. well, we Indonesian often write incorrect, just like ijin instead of izin, etc.

color is american english, while colour is british english
same as favourite (B) and favorite (A)
or fibre (B) and fiber (A)
or marvellous (B) and marvelous (A)

I think "izin" is the right writing and pronunciation, while "ijin" is just because of the sundanese tongue that couldn't pronounce it right (no offense)

Dude, don't judge, Indonesians tend to speak English whether they can or cannot. That's also why this sub forum exists. So just let them be

Yeah, your case is just a mirror thing with me. I was live in ADL, SA. Many people said I do speak a good english but many of them said I have a bad grammar. Best tips for those of you who are willing to try are:
1. Speak confidently
2. If you know that you have a grammar problems, dun worry but try to speak your opinions.

Different country has it's own uniqueness of speaking english, I might say that Indonesia has better english, compare to other non-speaking english countries.

Am I right?
